ETAC University of Scouting 2012

University of Scouting is designed to be a day of learning while having fun. Simply stated, it is the finest one-day supplemental training offered in the BSA - guaranteed to give you confidence and skills necessary for an exciting program. This training offers a variety of courses designed to give additional information to help in all areas and programs of the Boy Scouts of America.

Some of the methods touched upon in different basic trainings are treated in greater depth at University of Scouting. There are no prerequisites as this training is intended to enrich your program experience.

University of Scouting provides quality supplemental training to allow leaders to enhance and improve the program quality that they deliver and to have a positive impact on the youth of our council.

Who Should Attend?

University of Scouting is designed for all adult leaders in the Boy Scouts of America regardless of function or program area. Learn from these sessions and add quality to your program - GUARANTEED! Discover the opportunities available for meetings and outings. Learn about council activities to support your program. Visit the Scout Shop for your supplies. Learn more about Scouting's origins and the legacy of learning. Sessions are led by experienced volunteers or Professional Scouters who will help you enhance your ability to deliver a fun and exciting program to the scouts.

How do I register and where will it be held?

Adult registration is only available online and information is being distributed at Roundtables and District meetings beginning in January. Online Adult registration starts Friday January 6th and runs through Wednesday February 8th, 2011 and cost $10.00 (includes lunch). Walk up registration is $15.00 and there is no guarantee of a lunch being provided. The course catalog which includes registration and scheduling instructions is online at http://okeetuklo.org. This year’s event is being hosted at Tyler Junior College, Tyler, Texas.

Youth must register is via the Council Office only. See online for a listing of courses and download the registration form. Youth cost is $10.00 and includes lunch.

NOTE: Except for specific class sessions open to youth, University of Scouting is an adult event. There are no provisions for child care.
